Wychwood Baptist Church

What's On

A summary ...

To save you spending time searching different tabs, this page summarises 'what's on' at Wychwood Baptist, with links included to other pages. It also includes other resources which you may find helpful.  It covers Pastoral & Practical Care, Sunday Services, Prayer & DevotionsRegular Activities & Events, and Other Resources.

Pastoral & Practical Care is available for anyone in our community.  Our Pastor is available via phone, email, video call, or in person.  Whatever you are most comfortable with.  As a church we are also looking out for one another by small groups keeping in regular contact - we'd be happy to add you to a group if that would help.  These remain difficult days, so don't be afraid to ask for help!

We are also here for practical support, one example being our work with Chipping Norton Foodbank.  So let us know if you find yourself in need. Or, should you wish to donate to Foodbank you can drop off in our church porch, or arrange for us to come and collect.

Contact us for more details.

We would love you to join us on a Sunday, 10.30am.

Most Sundays we meet at 10.30am for a service of worship.  An opportunity to sing songs, pray and spend time in God's word together.  After the service, do join us for some coffee and cake!

You can be sure of a warm welcome!

HOWEVER - there is a change this Sunday (3rd April).  Instead of meeting at 10.30am, we will be meeting at 4pm for a Baptism Service.

Scattered Sundays (once a month)

Once a month we have a 'Scattered Sunday.'  This is a week where we do not meet in the morning at Wychwood Baptist for worship, but encourage and give space for everyone to meet at another local Church.

We do, however, meet in the evening, 5pm at The Paddocks.  This alternates between 'Puddings & Praise' and 'Worship & Prayer.'

Our next 'Scattered Sunday' is 24th April, with 'Worship & Prayer' at 5pm in the TV lounge at The Paddocks.

Monthly, 4.30pm

Prayer is a key element of our Sunday gathering, but we also have a monthly prayer meeting.

Our next Prayer meeting is Thursday 21st April, 10am in the Church.

In addition to Sunday services, here's a list of other regular activitis and events:

Cafe (Fridays, 10am - 12pm)

Join us on Friday morning for an opportunity to catch up over coffee and cake with friends from our community .

N-Gage Youth Club  (Fridays, 6.30 - 8pm, Term Time)

For anyone in school years 7-11.

Perhaps the last couple of years have got to you personally, or has caused others you know to spend more time thinking about God, who he is, and maybe even where he is in the midst of a pandemic like COVID.  Here is one resources which may help.

Where is God in a Coronavirus World?

John Lennox is a mathematician, philosopher of science and Christian apologist. He is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and an Emeritus Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College, Oxford University.

In this book, Professor Lennox addresses how belief in a loving and sovereign God helps us to make sense of and cope with the coronavirus outbreak.
